Steel v Alloy - why our standard and commercial grades are
steel.
There are many domestic style cheap products available from discount
warehouses etc. The moving parts are usually riveted together and the lightweight alloy is not
designed to take much pressure.
In order to keep ANY marquee in place in a wind it is imperative that it is
secured to the ground. For this we recommend weights for the legs and also the use of ratchet
straps...

Imagine we hook one end of the ratchet strap to
the frame mechanism underneath the canopy...

and the other end to a corkscrew peg in the
ground...

...and we ratchet the strap nice and
tight.
At this point a lightweight
alloy marquee frame will buckle, bend and collapse! -
before its even been subjected to ANY WIND!!
The above procedure for tie down is one that we RECOMMEND you use for any ANY
of our shelters, and the above picture is one of our STANDARD grade marquees.
As we rise up the marquee ranges so we increase the force which
can be endured and the overall durability of the frame structure and components.
